Walked to the rickshaw/hutong place, TWAS FUN. We had a tour guide named Joe, who was a "handsome but arrogant but shy boy" of 24. He was really funny, much better than David the jerk. Sadly, we only had him for the hutong tour. During the rickshaw ride, I said NI HAOOO to every person I saw. No one responded AS enthusiastically as me, but they usually had SOME reaction.

China trip-Day 1: Beijing 2.22-23.09

SO. Just got back from the airport from China and I'm HELLA tired because of jet lag and crazy screaming babies on the plane. BUT I shall commence the extensive China trip entry!
~

I went to China for 12 days, hitting up Beijing, Xian, and Shanghai with 22 of my classmates. Luckily most of my good friends were on the trip and I made alot of new friends too. We departed from San Francisco airport on February 22, 2009 at 12 noon. Ozzie (classmate) was an hour late dohohohoho. Parents and students just stood around the airport at check-in up until we left, except for my mom who left early OTL. Channing's dad kept on taking really ugly sniper photos of me ; A ; huhuhuuu

IMG_5357

THEN WE WENT TO THE BATHROOM AND DISCOVERED COOL HAND DRIERS.

IMG_5365

IMG_5371

ON LE PLANEEE

We took lots of dumb photos, slept, talking, did plane-laps, and read Catch 22, sat with Jeanine, Annika, and Caseyz.

On the teleporter train thing

IMG_5448

So we got in our tourbus, and there was another tourbus parallel to us, filled with Korean student tourists. We waved like lunatics and only got this one boy to smile at us. orz

Our tour guide, David, was the worst tour guide on the trip. EVERYONE hated him because he was a jerk, tried to sell us stuff, brought us to only tourist traps, and was a ill-natured person. He was SO boring; by the second hour with him on the first day, everyone was just talking over him. GLAD WE DON'T HAVE TO SEE HIM EVER AGAIN YAYZZZ

IMG_5481

IMG_5480
We stayed at the Peking Hotel in Beijing...seemed quite nice in the lobby, but the rooms...not as nice hahaha

In China, 4 star means wannabe 5 star, and ours was almost borderline 3 star huuuu

IMG_5483

Had dinner at a alllllllright place, was a tad sketchy hahahaa
IMG_5484

IMG_5485

WE HAD SO MUCH EXTRA FOOD.

After dinner, we went back to the hotel. I had to deliver...THE EFFING LAXATIVE for my Grandpa(who had a stroke, but he's alright now, they say) to my dad's friend, so I couldn't go out with Lao shi, Ozzie, and Jeanine. They had...interesting adventures that I wish I could have gone on...Whorehouse KTV (karaoke) and le bathroom and the friend....huhuhuuuuuuuuu
